One person was hospitalized with minor injuries and 25 people were displaced early Tuesday, June 14, when an apartment building burned in Riverside.
The fire, reported at 4:36 a.m. in a two-story building on the 10500 block of Burton Street — northwest of the intersection of Tyler Street and Hole Avenue — spread from the first floor to the second.
Five of the units were left uninhabitable because of damage from smoke, water and flames, the Riverside Fire Department said. The American Red Cross provided temporary housing for residents who were displaced.
The investigation was unable to determine the cause of the fire, the Fire Department said. The damage was estimated at $400,000.
