A 67-year-old woman was arrested Monday, Aug. 1, on suspicion of killing a family member and injuring another in a shooting at a San Jacinto home, authorities said.
Riverside County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 1900 block of Meridian Street just before 9:30 a.m., where they found one woman dead and a second suffering from gunshot wounds, Sgt. Richard Carroll said.
At some point they also found Nancy Wischmeyer of San Jacinto and arrested her on suspicion of homicide and attempted homicide, Carroll said. The three women were family members; the relationships had not been disclosed yet by authorities.
Wischmeyer was being held in jail without the possibility of bail, according to inmate records.
What prompted the shooting was unclear.
