Alvord schools have a new logo to go along with a new set of values and new mission statements.
The Alvord Unified School District, which educates students in the western Riverside area and part of northeast Corona, arrived at the list of core values and mission and vision statements after talking to its community, a news release states.
“We spoke with and listened to nearly 4,000 different stakeholders over a period of nearly 18 months,” Alvord Superintendent Allan Mucerino said in the release. “This included teachers, parents, students, aides, maintenance workers, nurses, members of the executive staff.”
Riverside graphic designer Michael Bergen created the multicolored logo that features an orange and the slogan “Every Student. By Name.”
It will be introduced in spring on school banners and a new graphic in the school board room, the release states. The logo will then be rolled out for use on campuses, the release states.
The mission statement, in part, states that the Corona-based district aims “to strengthen our community by providing safe and nurturing schools that educate and celebrate the entire child.” The vision statement calls for “safe learning environments that meet our student’s academic, social and emotional needs.”
Alvord’s core values include accountability, safety, collaboration, acceptance of diversity and innovation.
