An 8-year-old child was critically injured in a double shooting in San Bernardino, police said in a news release on Tuesday, July 26.
San Bernardino police responded on Friday to the 1300 block of North Herrington Avenue at 8:49 p.m. regarding a shooting that involved a child, police said. When the officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
The child had a “critical” wound, authorities said. The youngster’s condition was not available on Tuesday, and no age or gender was provided.
The second victim had a non-life-threatening injury, police said.
Minimal suspect information was provided to police, and the suspects fled the area prior to officers’ arrival, officials said.
A motive was not immediately clear.
