A Colton woman was arrested on suspicion of a hit-and-run crash that killed a 62-year-old woman in Rialto on Thursday, Jan. 26, authorities said.
At around 9 p.m. on Thursday, Rialto resident Yolanda Vargas was walking in the street along the 100 block of East Randall Avenue when she was struck by a dark four-door sedan, according to Rialto Police Cpl. Nic Parcher. The victim was taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries.
On Saturday, Jan. 28, officers received a tip about a possible suspect vehicle matching their description.
Samantha Klemm, 27, was arrested at her home in Colton on suspicion of the fatal hit-and-run. She remained in custody on Monday with a bail set at $1 million.
