An investigation into the death of man found in Hemet has deemed it to be a homicide, but details of the killing were limited as of Monday, Aug. 22, according to the Hemet Police Department.
On Friday, Aug. 19, the Hemet Fire Department was alerted to an unresponsive man near the 200 block of North San Jacinto Street at 7:38 p.m., police said in a news release. Authorities determined that the man was dead at the scene.
Police responded and took over the investigation. It wasn’t immediately clear what the cause of death was.
Following the completion of an autopsy Monday, police are investigating the case as a homicide, officials said.
The victim’s name was not immediately available, pending family notification, police said.
