Here is a look at some of the top Inland high school football games being played Thursday, Sept. 15.
THURSDAY’S GAMES
TAHQUITZ (3-1) AT HILLCREST (2-2), 7:30 P.M.
IE Varsity info: Tahquitz has won three consecutive games, including a 55-15 win last week against Linfield Christian. Romeo Evans led the way for the Titans on offense, tossing three touchdown passes while rushing for three more. Jemarcus Clemons and Dorion Levingston each scored a pair of touchdowns for Tahquitz. Hillcrest is coming off a 24-7 victory last week over Lakeside. Matthew Kline carried the load on offense, rushing for 222 yards and three touchdowns on 36 carries. Gabriel Luna leads the Trojans defense with 41 tackles this season.
VISTA DEL LAGO (2-2) AT CANYON SPRINGS (3-1), 7:30 P.M.
IE Varsity info: Vista del Lago will be looking to snap a two-game skid when it heads across town for this matchup. Jaylen Patterson has thrown for 413 yards and five touchdowns and also rushed for 224 yards and five touchdowns. Amir Stephens leads the defense with 37 tackles. Canyon Springs has racked up three straight wins, including a 26-13 victory last week over Jurupa Valley. Oscar Nunez has tossed five touchdown passes this season, and Joseph Castellanos and Dezmone Woods have combined to rush for 533 yards and seven touchdowns for the Cougars.
ELSINORE (3-1) AT GRANITE HILLS (4-0), 7:30 P.M.
IE Varsity info: Elsinore grabbed the early lead last week and held on for a 35-26 victory over Redlands East Valley. The Tigers have a prolific running attack, led by Andrew Stankevich (352 yards, 4 TDs) and Mykai Skinner (254 yards, 2 TDs). Michael Holguin leads the defense with 36 tackles and four sacks. Granite Hills is coming off 42-28 win last week over Sultana. Byron Rivas has thrown for 746 yards and 12 touchdowns, while Kameron Smith has rushed for 666 yards and scored nine total touchdowns.
BLOOMINGTON (2-1) AT WEST VALLEY (3-0), 7:30 P.M.
IE Varsity info: Bloomington will be looking to rebound from last week’s 22-0 loss to Chaffey. The Bruins are averaging more than 300 yards per game on the ground. Diego Fraembs leads the team in rushing, but Jordan Triche and Alex Cortes also will see plenty of carries. Ezrah Maldonado is averaging 12 tackles per game for Bloomington. West Valley is coming off of its bye week and has outscored its three opponents by a combined score of 127-12. The Mustangs are led on offense by quarterback Fred Ferrence and running back Tyreon Evans.
