The beach isn’t just found on the Pacific Ocean. There’s also one in the San Jacinto Mountains.
Lake Hemet’s beach area, known as the Splashing Eagle Swim Zone, is open this summer.
Lake Hemet, located in the San Jacinto Mountains and run by the Lake Hemet Municipal Water District, offers camping, fishing and swimming. Guests can bring water and beach toys.
Located off the shore of the Bluegill Camp 6 in Mountain Center, the beach is open Thursdays through Mondays and offers two sessions to avoid crowding. Guests can make reservations for the first session, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., or the second session, from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The swim zone is free for overnight campers. For non-campers, it’s $5 a person and $25 for parking.
