Re: “Here’s why your gas bills are so much higher right now“
My God. Is there an editor in the house? Sforza goes on a rant accusing capitalism, the advocates of capitalism, then to add insult to injury stating advocates of the market become “quasi-socialists” insisting the government do something about exorbitant prices.
Sforza confuses herself with being a columnist in the Opinion section. I couldn’t care less what her opinion is in a news story. She finally backs into a prudent view in the penultimate paragraph with Shon R. Hiatt of USC.
Had Sforza started with Hiatt’s observations and worked through that the reader could have been informed on a template of who, what, where, when and rather than the being the collateral damage of her shrewish screech.
Per Hiatt as quoted, “The [green energy] goals are just too far-fetched and unrealistic—unless you want to inflict economic pain. The problem is so much political capital has been built into this that no one wants to admit they did something wrong. Just push forward until something breaks.”
Would love to have read a sober account of Hiatt’s points and evidence for same.
My only hope now is that the municipalities and counties will be given enough rope to hang themselves into bankruptcy. Multiple bankruptcies would affect the state’s coffers and could be an intervention for the parasitic classes to sober up.My wishful thinking is sophomoric given that we are now living in the Socialist Sanctuary State of Nutlandia.
Good for Hiatt. He had the courage to say the emperor has no clothes.
