An electrical fire that started in an RV at an Upland storage yard quickly spread and destroyed several other vehicles on Saturday.
The blaze was reported just before 1 p.m. in the 2000 block of West Foothill Boulevard, according to San Bernardino County Fire Department Battalion Chief Mike McClintock. Multiple RVs had already been engulfed in flames by the time crews arrived.
The close proximity of the vehicles allowed the fire to spready quickly, McClintock said.
A total of 15 vehicles — including RVs, trailers and passenger cars — were destroyed, and at least five others were damaged before crews managed to knock the fire down. No structures were damaged, and more than 50 vehicles were saved.
The fire prompted the temporary closure of Foothill Boulevard in both directions, Upland police said.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental, and one person was injured and treated at the scene.
