The 11 victims in Saturday night’s mass shooting in Monterey Park ranged in age from their 50s to their 70s, according to early information released Monday, Jan. 23.
Among the dead were people who relished their time at what was a beloved Star Ballroom Dance Studio in Monterey Park. The hub was known as a place where many students of Chinese descent came together around Latin dancing.

Of the 11 dead, two have been identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner. Others have not been formally identified as officials work to notify next of kin. Nine other people were wounded.
Those identified by the coroner are:
• My Nhan, female, 66
• Lilan Li, female, 64
The others, yet to be identified, were three women, one in her 50s and two in their 60s; two men in their 60s and three in their 70s.
An 11th victim who succumbed to “extensive injuries” included a person yet to be formally identified. Officials from LAC+USC Medical Center announced the 11th death on Monday.
